Trola widens its linguistic skills
For Tipografies
Jordi Embodas designed the typeface Trola, as a related Serif to Bulo. Trola is a headline typeface with moderate contrast. Jordi commissioned us to design a Cyrillic language extension for his typeface so we started as we usually do, we analyzed the design carefully and made general decisions about style. Trola is a classic Roman typeface but with a contemporary flair. It has clean and sharp features which needed to be brought into the Cyrillic.
Once this is clear we started drawing the characters and later on, when we had our design ready enough we had Irina Smirnova helping us as external consultant. With her insight we achieved better Cyrillic typographic quality and learned a bit more about this script.
